I love it when I can add some basic decor all year and just tweak it for each holiday.
I did exactly that for my refurbished pillar candle holders. You may remember seeing my earlier blog where I used gold leaf pumpkins for my Fall decor; now they are decorated for Christmas. I added some artificial pine needles and mini Christmas trees to finish the look. I also separated the group so that when we want a fire they do not have to be moved.
I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want to do around the holidays is to spend hours pulling my decor from the storage space to get the house decorated for the holidays. This alone will kill my holiday cheer! These painted wood pillar candle holders save some of that work. They also look great in front of the fireplace other times of year when it’s too warm for one.
The fireplace has gold on the glass doors, gold leaf on the pillar candle holders and mirror, but the stocking holders are silver. Now you could paint the silver stocking holders to match the gold, but the two mixed together is nice. There are no decorating rules that state we must have one or the other.
So pull out your gold and silver holiday decor and add some sparkle to your home.
