An Inspiring Antique Ironing Board

August 17, 2018 //  by Patricia Branch//  Leave a Comment

If you know anything about me you know that I LOVE old stuff!! When I go shopping, I usually don’t go in with any creative plans to buy anything specific.  I just see something I love and I have to have it.  My brain just works like that: the creative ideas come later!

I purchased this antique ironing board with no intention of using it for ironing, (nobody’s got time for that…lol)!  Right after I bought it I used it outside my front door as part of a decorative grouping.  It looked great but then I came across a quote that meant a lot to me and I knew I had to have it in my home, but where?

That is when my creative juices started flowing and I was inspired to write this quote on my antique ironing board:

“Write your hurts in the Sand; Carve your blessings in Stone.”

To create a super fun and meaningful project like this, all you need to do is find a piece of furniture or a decorative item. Then use your creativity to come up with a unique saying, or you can even use one of your favorites. You can always use a stencil to apply it, or maybe you have a friend or colleague that was given the gift to paint free hand.  Either way, it is sure to be a treasure in your home to remind you of your favorite saying. I absolutely love my antique ironing board with my favorite saying!
