My name is Patty Branch. I have had a passion for furniture refinishing for more than 20 years. I started out refinishing just for myself. But when my friends and family saw my work, they started asking me to transform their pieces or to buy the ones I had refinished. Furniture refinishing quickly expanded into my full-time job.
I was based out of Orlando most of those years, doing client work out of my home and having 3 retail booths in the Orlando area. As you can imagine, in that time I’ve done 100’s of pieces many of which are scattered among homes in the Central Florida area.
In 2016 I got married and moved to Lake County, Florida where I now work and live. I have a studio in Fruitland Park where I have items for sale in the front and my work area in back. I offer classes in my shop where you and your friends can learn how to paint small items. On my website you will find product recommendations, short articles on refinishing techniques and educational videos demonstrating them. On Facebook you can watch my live demonstrations of techniques. (Be sure to “Like” my Facebook page so you won’t miss these sessions.)
Furniture refinishing: Do you own antique or vintage pieces that need a makeover? Or maybe you want to transform your newer furniture. Are the finishes to dark? We can help. Send me a picture of what pieces you have, and I will be glad to give you a free estimate on transforming them into something unique. This can be achieved with paint and/or stain. If you can’t decide on a finish, I would be happy to meet with you to help you select the best choices for your home.
Decorating: I have a passion for decorating and have transformed many homes through the years. Let’s set up an appointment so I can help you with the tedious task of putting the “icing” on your home’s decor. I will listen to your needs and concerns and together we will make your space comfortable and relaxing. This could mean just moving furniture around to make your space cohesive and comfortable, or maybe picking out wall art, or a wall color. I can also help you with flooring choices, or remodeling designs. Whatever your decorating needs, we are here to help.
Paint products: I now carry Debs DIY Paint. This is a clay based all-natural paint, perfect for doing your own furniture or small projects. It is also odorless making it pleasant to use indoors. I have been painting a long time and I’ve seen a lot of different products on the market. Unlike most other products, DIY paint is the only one I would recommend using without first sanding or priming. It has a top coat and a wax that is both nontoxic and easy to apply. I have done live videos (see one below) demonstrating how easy it really is. The company stands behind their product, and so do I. It can also cover most materials, like metal, wood and glass. Stop by my studio to see all the beautiful paint color choices. If you live out of the area, you can click the link below and order it online.
Paint brushes: In the past, I used local hardware store brushes for painting furniture and decor. Although they got the job done, I soon learned how a brush’s shape makes a big difference in how well it works. When I saw other painters using Paint Pixie brushes, I was skeptical. But I like to try new things out for myself, so I ordered some. I was quickly impressed by how unique Paint Pixie brushes are and how they are designed for exactly what I do. The difference is in both the shape and the quality. Paint Pixie brushes are round which holds the paint better, so you can cover a larger area faster leaving fewer brush marks. They are made in Italy using high quality materials. The owner of Paint Pixie hand picks each shape and style brush from the Italian manufacturer. I use these for my work and recommend them for yours. They also make a soap to clean the brushes; it can be used in the net bag it comes in. In the past, I used plain soap and water, but Paint Pixie soap is charcoal based and made to clean more efficiently. In addition, they smell amazing! You can purchase them in my store or order them online using the link below.
In the video below, I was featured on the Fox 35 News for recycling and reusing a early 1900’s Victrola that we re-purposed into a liquor bar.
